Have you ever felt like you are at the top? (Of your career, business world, or anything that made you feel like you are the one who prevails.)
Well actually, as a human, we will all strive for this. To be great, the power and the influence that we all craving for is part of what we called the dream (of what you've dreamt for). Yes, and every step you will take towards to that goal line, you will always have your reputation with you. Reputations are things that you always care for, because these things can make you fall, stumble and can make you quit to your dream (I'm talking about discouragements).
Because bad reputations can make you stumble, loss your confidence and can't give you enough focus towards your goal. Good reputations will give you boost (encouragements) and will patches the bad reputations you've done in the past, and will give you discipline that having good reputations are better than having bad reputations.
By having your eyes focus to your goal, you must have some sacrifices to make, specifically a discipline to follow. Discipline might be the right formula for success (for some people), but having discipline of being punctual or anything that makes you follow the office rules just to make yourself thinking that you are in the right pathway is not that enough for your goal.
Having discipline towards your goal must also have this kind of mindset, and that is to control your attitudes. Controlling your attitudes is one of the main reasons why they survive in the race for their careers. But if you can’t change the facts that are given unto you, try to bend your attitudes just to make the right cut or the right fit for the situation. And now, if you have these two mindsets with you, of having the right discipline (lifestyle included) and of controlling or bending your attitudes (depends on the situation), you are now armed, loaded, and fueled to survive the career race (the path where you want to go, your goal).
So let's fast-forward it and go near at the top, so you are one step closer to the finish line, having all the good reputations, awards and discipline that you practiced up to this point. Then you made it, you now have the glitz and glamour (that you loved), you now have the things that you can't afford when you're just dreaming as a simple man does, and you now have the power and the influence to be the great.
You are now just happy to be at the top. Suddenly, you realized that yeah, I'm at the top but is this all I can be? You’re thinking of your life that ends up being the greatest, but is that worth enough? Is that the end of keep striving for more? Yes, your getting it done more in less time but where are the those relationships that matter most in the first place?
Having more time for your career makes your time for your family suffers. While you are focus in caring and gaining reputation for your career, you are simultaneously pulling the strings in the heart of those relationships that matter most, especially your family. Yes, the sole reason why you work hard is that you want to give your family a comfortable life, like what you’ve promised to them, and also just to make your family proud of what you have become this past few years, that you are a successful man everyone trying and keep pushing to be like one.
Yes, by having that success, you want to inspire others to keep pushing and aim high to be a successful man but behind those ceremonies and conferences you have attended or have been speech with, there goes your family waiting for you to spend time just a little bit because they know you will leave in the morning when you wake up to get back in work.
A successful man does not mean that you have all the money that a man can have. Maybe that is success for some (for selfish people) but the real meaning of success is to share the things you achieved to those you love and to those who in need. Isn't that sweet success, to just win their smiles when you acknowledge them that they were part of what you are right now? Isn't that sweet success, when you are not the only one at the top but also them whom you love and you will tell them now, tell me how you love it, when only heaven’s right above it.
If you think it negatively, you will realize that you are the only one sacrificing and the one who worked hard for this kind of success where your family is having fun with the shared luxury you got on your success. But if you think it positively, you will feel the joy inside by witnessing the smiles, and laughter you read in their faces because you shared not just the money or things you got on your success but also the time that you are there having fun with them.
That success is not complete if even one member of the family is not present in the celebration you are having right now. That giving time for each other is much more costly than giving money for each other. And now, they know how to love that action, of having more time with each other is better than having more money each other. There is only one thing above us, we know that sky is the limit but there is much more than that limit, because after that limit, there are no limitations within it.
Yes, only heaven's right above it. We should acknowledge God for everything we have right now. All of we have right now comes from God's powers, no more no less. Because all of the things you have right now does not come from your own effort but comes from God's Grace. So share the things you have and don't boast about it like it came from your own effort.
